Three high school students in Gwinnett County are facing disciplinary action after a threat was posted on Facebook.
Mountainview High School officials were alerted to the threat by parents and students, who said they saw disturbing posts on Facebook.
"So me and a friend of mine were bored and we started devising ways of mass murder at school," read the post. The student went on to say he would "strap multiple people with bombs and detonate each bomb from a detonator."
The Facebook post also talked about going into the morning carpool lane with "guns blazing."
The message was posted on Monday night. By the time school was in session on Tuesday, rumors were flying.
"When I was going into second period, my class was evacuated and we had to go to a different room so we were all, like, questioning what was going on," said Katheryn Brown, a student at the school.
"I actually know him -- he's in my classes, and I don't believe he would do something like that," said Gabrielle Marquez.
School principal Keith Chaney sent a letter home to parents that read, in part, "…While it appears that the students involved did not have any intent to carry out the comments made on Facebook, we did take this situation very seriously as the postings were perceived to be threatening in nature…"
"In today's society you can't take this stuff lightly. I mean, you've got kids in this school and I want to know that they can be safe," said parent Lisha Hutchins.
School officials said that they don't believe the students intended to follow through with the threats. Still, three students are facing disciplinary action for the post. One student is also facing criminal charges for bringing an unassembled Airsoft rifle to school.

If you're hitting the road this weekend, you wont be alone. Plenty of drivers are expected to make use of the long Memorial Day weekend, both in and out of town.
