Ron Gant to join FOX 5's Good Day Atlanta

ATLANTA -

Former Atlanta Braves All-Star Ron Gant will be joining FOX 5's Good Day Atlanta.

Gant, currently a broadcaster for FOX Sports South and the MLB Network, will begin as a co-anchor on Good Day Atlanta in October, according to FOX 5's Vice President and General Manager, Bill Schneider.

In a statement released by FOX 5 on Monday, Gant says "having lived in Atlanta for over 20 years, I've always appreciated the support sports fans have given me. I look forward to this new opportunity with FOX 5, which will give me a chance to join another great team."

Gant played six years with the Atlanta Braves, including playing in two World Series.
