An early morning raid by U.S. marshals and Savannah police led to the arrest of a man who had been wanted for five months on drug and firearms charges.
A spokesman for the Marshals Service said officers received information that 29-year-old Willie Lee "Chill" Smith was at an address in west Savannah and he was arrested early Sunday morning without incident.
Smith had been wanted by Savannah police since April on four counts of selling crack cocaine, being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing a firearm during a felony. The spokesman said Smith was taken to the Chatham County Jail.
