Griffin historical archive opening Monday

GRIFFIN, Ga. -

A new archive documenting the history of Griffin and Spalding County will soon open.
 
The Griffin Daily News reports the new archive will officially open its doors Monday. The director of the Thomaston-Upson Archives, Penny Cliff, will be the guest speaker at a 7 p.m. ceremony.
 
The archive is collecting historical papers including documents and photos. Griffin City Commissioner Dick Morrow said the archive will accept or make copies of family and church documents that record the area's history.
