Savannah NAACP makes voter registration push

SAVANNAH, Ga. -

The Savannah branch of the NAACP is making a push to get residents registered to vote ahead of the presidential election.
 
Volunteers plan to canvass area neighborhoods Sunday to encourage residents to vote. The deadline is Oct. 9 to register to vote in the November general election.
 
NAACP member Connie Cooper told WTOC-TV that if people want a say about health care and other important issues, they need to vote.
 
The NAACP is offering free rides to the Chatham County Voter Registration Office.
