MACON, Ga. -

Two counties in central Georgia will receive a $150,000 grant to help them counter gang violence.

U.S. Attorney Michael Moore said the money will be used to assess the gang presence in communities, create a gang database and start a gang intervention program for 40 juvenile offenders.

WMAZ-TV reports the funding will also support behavioral treatment for 15 adult offenders and start an abatement program for abandoned homes.
