ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. -
Authorities in Rockdale County are investigating an officer-involved shooting that left one man injured on Thursday.
According to police, 20-year-old Cardal Haywood was shot in the upper thigh by a trooper with the Georgia State Patrol. The shooting occurred behind a QuikTrip on Salem Road. Authorities said that Haywood tried to run away during a traffic stop and pointed a gun at the trooper.
The suspect was transported to Grady Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The trooper was not injured.
