Ald. Moreno allows Chick-fil-A in Logan Square after changes

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Ald. Joe Moreno said he will now allow a Chick-fil-A to open in Logan Square, after the company decided not to give money to anti-gay organizations and clarified their stance on discrimination.

This summer, there was a huge debate over whether the city rejected Chick-fil-A, because the company's founder opposes gay marriage.

Moreno said the restaurant chain has agreed not to support anti-gay groups financially.

The company has also agreed - in writing, via an internal memo to franchisees and stakeholders - to treat employees equally, regardless of their sexual orientation.
