Union City firefighters honored for saving life

Posted: Updated:
UNION CITY, Ga. -

Some Union City first responders received special recognition on Tuesday.

Four firefighters were surprised with a "Life Saver Award" at the city council meeting.

City leaders thanked the team for using their life saving skills on a man who was having a heart attack and had stopped breathing for 10 minutes.

The patient walked out of the hospital just days later thanks to their quick-thinking.

The crew, which included Sgt. Jeff Forsyth, Fire Apparatus Operator Kristina Rossey, and paramedics Michael Fitzpatrick and David Ligon, says they never expected any thanks or praise, they were just happy to do their jobs.
