Libyans in Atlanta rally to support U.S., peace

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

A group of Libyan Muslims living in metro Atlanta rallied in a Centennial Olympic Park Saturday evening in a show of support for the United States and for peace.

A spokesman said the group is deeply saddened by the death of the U.S. Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans in Libya this week.

They say they are embarrassed by the wave of anti-American violence in Libya and other Muslim countries.

A spokesperson for the group said they do not fear a backlash against Muslims leaving in the United States. They believe that most Americans understand the violence is the work of extremists.
