DeKalb officer resigns after alleged incident with prostitute - Atlanta News, Weather, Traffic, and Sports | FOX 5

Investigators say a DeKalb police officer's off-duty encounters with a prostitute have cost him his job.

Quintez Buckner resigned after an investigation into the alleged incident, which occurred last February or March at a Wesley Chapel Road motel. Buckner and former DeKalb County Police Sgt. Anthony Robinson were working an off-duty security job outside an apartment complex.

According to an internal affairs report, Buckner told investigators that Robinson was the "wing man" that night. Buckner said that Robinson stopped a prostitute in front of the apartment complex. He talked to her for a while and then initiated the three of them – Buckner, Robinson and the prostitute – walking across the street to a motel where the prostitute was renting a room.

The report alleges that Robinson stayed in the room while Buckner had sex with the woman after Robinson allegedly paid her $30. According to the report, Buckner admitted to paying for a second encounter with the woman a few weeks later.

DeKalb police said that on August 22, Buckner resigned in lieu of termination just before internal affairs determined his off-duty conduct violated department policy.

Buckner could not be reached for comment.

In May, Robinson was indicted, arrested and fired amid allegations that he condoned physical abuse of handcuffed suspects in custody.

Robinson told FOX 5's Portia Bruner off-camera that the report is filled with lies designed to make him look like a dirty cop to substantiate the district attorney's case against him. He said that he didn't know that the woman was a prostitute and said "I wasn't acting as wingman. I was trying to be helpful to the young man. I thought maybe they might make a connection or something."

He went on to say, "I didn't know that it could escalate to sex."

Robinson admitted to being in the room with Buckner and the prostitute as they had sex. He said he wasn't there to watch, but was there to watch Buckner's gun belt.

Pointing to a clean 15-year record with the DeKalb Police Department, Robinson said he not the officer portrayed in the report or the May indictment.

"I know the truth will come out eventually when all of this goes to trial," said Robinson.
