Travel experts are fielding calls from anxious customers planning trips to the Middle East. One Fulton County couple planning a vacation in Egypt says they're nervously keeping up with recent events.
Sherri Collins, 64, said things will have to get a lot worse before she cancels the trip that she's planned for two years.
"I'm not going to live by fear. I want to go, I want to see the antiquities," said Collins.
The U.S. State Department has added travel warnings about Algeria and Libya, but not Egypt – yet.
Tom Beebe of Uniglobe Travel booked the trip for Collins, her husband and another couple. The trip is scheduled to begin in three weeks.
"We don't have all the answers yet. All we can go by is what we see from the State Department. As far as we are concerned at this point, the tour is going forward," said Beebe.
Collins said her traveling partner is concerned but they are still planning on making the trek.
"I do feel like the way the Middle East is going, if don't go now, you're probably not ever going to get to go" said Collins.
Collins and her husband paid $700 in travel insurance should the trip be canceled.
