Police say traffic camera video could help solve a deadly hit-and-run case in Sandy Springs. The footage shows an SUV driving on Roswell Road just before it hit and killed a 67-year-old woman.
Sandy Springs police say Lanzhen Pan, 67, was killed after being struck by an SUV in a crosswalk on Roswell Road on Tuesday night.
"The video does show the vehicle getting into the turn lane and it appears that the vehicle knows where it's going," said Sgt. Forrest Bohannon of the Sandy Springs Police Department.
The dark-colored SUV is turning into Hightower Trail, a residential street. Shortly after the vehicle is seen in the video, it hit and killed Pan, authorities said.
Witnesses said that the driver initially stopped but then drove off while Pan was in the road.
Police believe the driver may live in the area. That driver is not visible in the vehicle. A woman in the passenger seat is seen.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call Sandy Springs police at 770-730-5600.
