CDC: Noise pollution affects those in urban areas

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Atlanta's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says people living in urban areas are at greater risk for disrupted sleep

Researchers conducted the study in metro Atlanta.

They found nearly 10 percent of people were at risk of being affected by noise pollution, and noise levels were loud enough to disturb the sleep of more than two percent of those in the study.

The authors of the study say their findings show policies need to be updated to protect communities from noise pollution.
