Cobb Superintendent Dr. Michael Hinojosa said he planned to ask the board to approve the addition of the teachers during the Wednesday work session.
New teachers are needed to help relieve some of the overcrowding in middle school classrooms.
Initial enrollment figures showed that there were 1,300 students more than projected, putting some classes well above the average teacher-student ratio.
