One of the sticking points in the Chicago teachers' strike is job security based on standardized test scores of students.
According to an AP report, the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association are taking a stand on the issue and plan to fight it. If they lose, it could have an affect on other school districts in the nation.
Other reforms being sought include expanding charter schools, and getting private companies involved with failing schools.
