A Clayton County couple captured an attempted break-in on video tape.
The couple, who asked not to be identified, said they realized that someone was trying to get into their Hampton home just before 11 p.m. on Saturday. The two were asleep in their home when three young men tried to kick in their back door.
"There were two young men in the backyard, there was one was in the front. They were casing the house and he pretty much was just kicking the door as hard as he could, trying to get in," said the woman.
The family's home security video shows one of suspects repeatedly tried to kick in the door. That's when the woman's husband grabbed his gun.
"They kept kicking and kept kicking, and after they kicked and kicked, I thought they were getting ready to come on in," he said. "I was here with the gun…looking to the left and the right."
They say it's a good thing the teen's didn't get inside after the alarm system went off and scared them away.
"You never know whose home you are coming in to and what's waiting for you on the other side," said the man.
The woman is taking the video to local schools in hopes that someone will recognize them and turn them in to Clayton County police.
"I'm very uneasy, very on edge -- just very nervous. Hopefully they'll be caught soon and I can rest peacefully," she said. "I just want them to be arrested and whatever time they need to serve, hopefully it will fits the crime."
Clayton county police are investigating this attempted burglary.
The homeowners say the young men ran away from the house towards a subdivision on McDonough Road.
