Frustrated parents waited in line on  Monday in hopes of registering for this year's Salvation Army Angel Tree Christmas giveaway. Some of them were turned away.

At one point, hundreds were lined-up to register for the annual event.

Salvation Army officials say they base how many people they can sign-up by the number of volunteers they have on a given day.

People who got a flyer to register said that in the past they could sign up online.

The Salvation Army says people have two weeks to register for the Angel Tree program, which provides new clothing, toys and gifts for children from low income families.
