Teen arrested for allegedly stealing flags in Cherokee County

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. -
A teenager is facing charges for allegedly stealing flags in Cherokee County.
Deputies say over the weekend they discovered three of the flags in the back of a truck parked at Hobgood Park and arrested the 16-year-old driver.
The Towne Lake Optimist Club puts up hundreds of the flags on holidays to raise money for local children's charities. But after Labor Day last week, they discovered someone had swiped at least nine of them.

A judge has sentenced Michael Parson to the maximum of 35 years in jail for the attempted murder of his wife. On Thursday, Parson was convicted of shooting his wife, Adina, eight times in 2012.
