An evening of patriotism as dozens filled the seats at Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater in Peachtree City for the Wounded Warrior Project benefit. The event kicked off with a helicopter flyover and transitioned into a concert, but it was much more.
The Project wants to spread the word that the greatest casualty of war is the forgotten. The non-profit organization helps members of the military serving in Iraq and Afghanistan transition back into civilian life by providing health benefits, education, and career advice.
They say 46,000 returned from the two wars with physical injuries, but more than 400,000 return with invisible scares like post traumatic stress disorder. And those are just the reported cases. The organization seeks to help heal all the wounds.
