Gurley tries to stay on straight and narrow at UGa

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Todd Gurley is aware of Georgia's history at running back - both the good and the bad.

The seventh-ranked Bulldogs have produced plenty of top backs, most notably Herschel Walker. But some of Gurley's recent predecessors have fallen by the wayside, largely because of off-field issues.

The freshman gave a tantalizing glimpse of his potential in his college debut. He carried eight times for 100 yards and two touchdowns against Buffalo, and scored another TD on a 100-yard kickoff return. He'll likely get even more playing time Saturday at Missouri.

Gurley is trying to stay humble and avoid the issues that prevented players such as Isaiah Crowell from reaching their full potential. As Gurley says, "It's so easy to get in trouble and so hard to get out of trouble."
