Home Depot volunteers helped nearly a dozen local veterans spruce up their homes on Thursday as part of its "Celebration of Service" project.
Team Depot presented retired U.S. Army Spc. 4th Class James Mahone with a military medal before they got down to business.
Volunteers helped with landscaping at the home on Woodland Drive that he shares with his elderly mother. They painted outside the house and interiors and even gave the front door a coat of red paint.
Home Depot's nationwide project is renovating and repairing homes for 100 veterans, including 11 in the metro Atlanta area. .
