ATLANTA -
A third grader and big Denver Broncos fan found out the hard way he can't represent his favorite player Peyton Manning.
Konor Vannata was told not to wear the number 18 jersey at Monfort Elementary School in Colorado. His school district considers the number a part of gang culture and it's banned inside the classroom.
"She told me I couldn't wear 18 anymore ‘cause it is a gang number and I had to take it off," said Vannata.
Officials say the policy also applies to the numbers 13, 14, 31, 41 and 81.
