A look at Fulton criminal case files found in closet

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

The FOX 5 I-Team has found as many as 2,000 criminal case files, some dating back more than 20 years, have been collecting dust in a judge's chambers. Now, the Fulton County court staff are scrambling to fix the problem.

Charges included family violence, battery, drugs and DUI.

Once discovered, the cases were so old, many have been thrown out with no trial, no testimony, and no evidence presented.

Senior I-Team reporter Dale Russell gets an up-close look at those cases.

View the statement by Fulton County Judge Susan Forsling regarding the missing case files.
