DeKalb County School Board Chair Thomas E. Bowen told FOX 5 News that he does have concerns in the letter, but he believes that the district and board have been acting properly.

Parents are calling this a wakeup call and are calling on the board to take action to correct the problems.

The school board will be working to put together a response to the letter.
