A pair of suspected robbers is accused of bringing a baby along with them on a crime spree in Buckhead.
Atlanta police say that a man and woman are accused of two robberies outside of a retail strip near Phipps Plaza on Saturday and Sunday. Surveillance footage shows the two sitting outside a Publix with an infant.
"The mother is very close by with the baby carriage and on one instance…the baby was crying and the victim showed some concern. He almost wanted to go over and help the baby. He stopped and paused and when he made that pause is when the second perpetrator approached him from behind," said Detective Eugene Johnson with the Atlanta Police Department.
That victim told FOX 5 that the robber put the gun to the back of his head and demanded his money and credit cards. He said that he turned over his entire wallet.
"I think it's terrible to involve a small child like that, or even to do whatever they did here in the neighborhood is unacceptable. They shouldn't be taking advantage of innocent people," said Buckhead Heights neighborhood representative John Bailey.
A second robbery took place at the Oaks at Buckhead condominiums, Surveillance video shows the man following two people into the building then robs them at gunpoint.
Police answered questions about the robberies at a neighborhood meeting on Tuesday night. Authorities said they have received numerous tips and expect to be able to find the pair soon.
"We've received approximately 50 to 55 tips on the individual," said Major Van Hobbs of the Atlanta Police Department.
Residents say they're taking action. The home owners association has already increased up security with extra off-duty officers to patrol the area.
Toni Blasingame said it's scary to walk her dog at night and she wants the couple caught.
"They don't' deserve to be parents. They don't deserve to be parents," said Blasingame.
