2 dead after SUV goes down embankment in Bartow County

BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. -
Two people were killed in an accident on Bartow County on Monday, officials said.
According to Bartow County Sheriff's Office officials, it appeared that a Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling west on Highway 411 near Rogers Cut Off Road drove off the road, down a steep embankment and hit several trees. Two passengers in the vehicle were killed, officials said. The driver was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital.
Officials closed Highway 411 near Rogers Cut Off Road to land a Life Flight vehicle.
The Bartow County Sheriff's Office said that the lanes would be closed for at least two hours after the accident, which occurred around 7:45 p.m.
