Clayton County police say officers shot a knife-wielding man in Riverdale on Monday.
According to Officer Chandi Ashmore of the Clayton County Police Department, officers responding to a call on Yellowood Court just before 5 p.m. saw a 22-year-old man holding a knife to this throat. Police said the man was "acting irrationally and making threatening comments, while burning items in his yard."
Police shot the man after the suspect allegedly made threats, according to officials.
The man was transported to the hospital, and his condition is not known. His name has not been released.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is examining the incident.
