California school district hires Clayton County superintendent

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -
After announcing his resignation last week, the head of the Clayton County school district has a new job.
FOX 5 NEWS has learned Superintendent Edmond Heatley will leave the metro-area and take the same position in Berkeley, California.
Heatley has announced his resignation will take effect on September 30. He served as superintendent of the chino valley unified school district in California before coming to Clayton County in 2009 while they were dealing with major accreditation issues.
