ATLANTA -
Officials with the FBI in Atlanta say a doctor has been arrested on child sex charges.
According to the FBI, 35-year-old Dr. Vikul Patel, a Doctor of Internal Medicine, was arrested Sunday afternoon in Rossville, Georgia after they say he traveled there to meet a child to have sex.
Patel caught the eye of authorities when he started a series of chat sessions with undercover officers where he stated his desire to have sex with a child, says the FBI.
Patel, of Chattanooga, Tenn., is being held in the Walker County Detention Center. He faces charges of attempted child molestation and violation of the computer pornography act.
