CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -

A 35-year-old man has surrendered to Clayton County police, ending a four-hour standoff at an apartment complex.

Police said Chacoland Lamon Dye held seven people hostage early Saturday.

Police say the incident began when Dye refused to leave the apartment and told police that he would shoot anyone who came inside.

Police Lt. Chris Windley said Dye ultimately surrendered. He was charged with seven counts of false imprisonment, five counts of cruelty to children and one count of family violence battery. It was not immediately clear whether he had an attorney.
