Forklift accident kills man in Austell

AUSTELL, GA. -

Authorizes are looking into the death of a 40-year-old Atlanta man who died after being pinned under a forklift at a recycling facility in Austell on Thursday morning.

The Cobb County Police Department says that they were asked to assist the city of Austell in investigating the incident which happened at the Caraustar Industries Mill located at 3082 Humphries Hill Road around 9 a.m.

Investigators say that Calvin Carter, 40, of Atlanta, was working on the forklift which was on elevated jacks just before it fell on top of him.

Police do not suspect foul play in the case.
