Police say they are looking for a suspect after shots were fired at Atlanta police officers on Thursday.
According to Atlanta police, officers attempted to stop and question a "suspicious" man riding a bicycle in the area of Princess Avenue at around 10 a.m. He did not cooperate, and fled on foot to the rear of a house. It was at that point officers heard a gunshot.
The officers took cover and requested more units to the area, according to Atlanta police. No injuries were reported.
Authorities set up a perimeter in the Avon Avenue SW area to look for the suspected shooter, with SWAT teams, helicopters and K-9 units assisting in the search.
Several streets in the area were closed a nearby school was placed on lockdown while police searched for the suspect.
Investigators found a gun, but did not locate the suspect.
Police have not said why they were attempting to stop the man.
