Hot air balloons invade Callaway Gardens

Posted: Updated:
PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -

There's going to be a bunch of hot air at Callaway Gardens this weekend -- and we are not talking about Paul Milliken! They are hosting the 14th Annual Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival, August 31 through September 3. And you can become part of the experience by volunteering as a chase crew member!

How?

Crews assist pilots with inflating, launching, "chasing" and packing the balloons. Approximately 150 volunteer chase crew members are needed. Crew members must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver's license and be able to volunteer at the Balloon Glow on Friday night and for both flights on Saturday and Sunday. Each balloon needs a four or five-member crew.

If you are interested in becoming a chase crew member or if you have questions about the event, please contact Andy Brown, Callaway Gardens' recreation director, at 706-663-5043 or at abrown@callawaygardens.com.
