Happy Homecoming For Returning Marines

Posted: Updated:
WILMINGTON, De. -

Holly Mason couldn't her happiness.

She stood on her tip toes as word that her boyfriend of two years was near.

"I'm so excited. I think I'm going to cry," she squealed.

Seven members of the US Marine Corp reserves from the Wilmington, Delaware area are returning from a ten month deployment.

Three of those months spent in Afghanistan's Helmand Province.

Holly Mason's  sign says it all. She can't wait to "debrief" her boyfriend, Lance Corporal Sam Nestor.

Family and friends waved flags as their loved ones rolled into the  Wilmington Marine Corps Reserve Center.

Applause filled the air and a siren sounded as the Marines marched toward their families

Jillian Welch waited with tears in her eyes to embrace the man she married five  days before he left in October.

When she finally hugged her husband with tears in her eyes she said. " Amazing it  feels great."

"It's a big deal to be home, " said Lance Corporal Robert Cianglione. "I'm just excited to spend next couple days spending time with them."

Chris Welch said he was happy to be home too after dealing with the accommodations.

"Makeshift showers, bathrooms, makeshift beds everything is  makeshift. It's so nice to be home."

Welch is especially happy  since the last time he  saw his daughter Isabella , she was just 8 months old.

The marines are home for good.

Their time in Afghanistan was spent providing fuel support and building out the infrastructure.
