Some drivers ended up with smashed windshields after someone threw rocks off a railroad overpass in Kennesaw.
Debbie Scalora was driving home from work on Barrett Parkway at 3:30 a.m. when, just as she drove under the railroad bridge, her windshield shattered with a bang.
"I actually thought it was a gunshot. That's the noise. The noise -- it was so loud," said Scalora.
It turned out to be a rock that someone had thrown off the overpass.
Scalora says that glass flew everywhere when her window shattered.
"Glass in my hair, glass down my shirt, in my mouth...As I was talking to the police officer, I was crunching glass in my mouth and he was out there at 3:15 in the morning with his flashlight making sure I wasn't bleeding," said Scalora.
Police say they received several calls about that same time from other drivers who had smashed windows after they drove under this bridge.
Scalora says its frightening knowing someone's apparent prank could have turned deadly.
"I was scared, then I was angry, then I was thankful that I was not hurt," said Scalora.
Police say unfortunately none of the drivers saw anyone on top of the bridge. Scalora said she was so surprised by her smashed windshield that she didn't' even think about looking up to see where the rock came from.
