DACULA, Ga. -

Another wrong-way driver crash, this time in Gwinnett County, critically injure two people.

Police say they have charged the wrong-way driver with Driving Under the Influence after he slammed head-on into another car around 10:30 p.m. Friday on Georgia Highway 316 at U.S. Highway 29 near Dacula.

Police have not released the name of the man arrested.

Rescue workers had to cut several people out of the wrecked vehicles. One child was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. The other patients were transported to Gwinnett Medical Center Lawrenceville.

Authorities say several people called their 911 center to report the wrong-way driver moments before the crash.

Police have not released the names of those involved in the accident.

This is the third reported wrong-way crash reported by FOX 5 News in the last two weeks. Both of those happened on Georgia Highway 400 and unlike Saturday's crash, both ended up killing at least one of the drivers.

Atlanta police say during the early morning hours of August 15th, 24-year-old Frampere Ingle entered the northbound lanes of Georgia 400 while traveling south on Lenox Road. They say she traveled about half a mile and collided head-on with another vehicle traveling in the northbound lanes, killing the driver of that vehicle, 44-year-old Eric Hanks.

The second incident happened nine days later and about five miles north, Sandy Springs police say 22-year-old Carlyn Emily Royball of Alpharetta was traveling north in the southbound lanes of Georgia 400 when she struck a car driven by Kelly Stevens near Roberts Drive. Royball was killed as a result of the accident. Stevens, who is the co-host of the popular radio morning show, The Vikki and Kelly Show on 98.5, was injured, but is expect to recover.
