ATLANTA -
Atlanta police are investigating whether a deadly shooting in southwest Atlanta on Thursday is connected to a series of robberies in the area.
According to investigators, a man's body was found lying in a roadway near Danforth Road and New Hope Road. They say the man was the victim of a pedestrian robbery.
Captain Adam Lee, III of the Atlanta Police Department says two other armed robberies occurred in nearby unincorporated Fulton County. Lee says the victim was shot just yards over the line inside the city of Atlanta.
Investigators first suspected the man may have been the victim of a hit-and-run, but once they got on scene they discovered the man had died from a gunshot wound.
The name of the victim has not been released.
