Man gets life in slaying of store owner in Ga.

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. (AP) - A man has been sentenced to life in prison in the shooting death of a College Park store owner who he thought short-changed his girlfriend.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/O66DZq ) reports that 43-year-old Eric Carr pleaded guilty Wednesday in the death of 52-year-old Michael Moore. The shooting occurred Oct. 15, 2010 in Moore's convenience store on Roosevelt Highway.

Carr was given two consecutive life sentences and an additional 15 years.

Prosecutors say Carr had pulled a gun on the store clerk and took money from the cash register when Moore entered the store from a back room. Carr pointed a gun at Moore and opened fire, fatally wounding the Moore in the chest.

Prosecutors say investigators determined that Carr went to the store to confront Moore for allegedly short-changing his girlfriend.
