A city of Atlanta public safety employee is suspected of creating a dangerous situation.
Sources tell FOX 5 that public works safety officer Tony Turman allegedly smashed into a garbage truck that he was monitoring. Officials say that when the vehicle hit the back of a garbage truck, it threw a worker to the ground. Turman's job is to supervise how other workers handle dangerous jobs.
Turman was arrested after being accused of making up a story to police about the accident.
City officials say Turman has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending an investigation of the incident. He has been released from DeKalb County Jail.
The employee thrown from the garbage truck was not injured.
