Voters across the state and several metro Atlanta counties are casting ballots in primary runoff elections on Tuesday. In north Georgia, the big race is in the 9th Congressional District.
State Representative Doug Collins is facing off against conservative radio show host Martha Zoller for the Republican nomination.
Collins had a narrow lead in the primary election.
The race has been a hard-fought contest over conservative credentials.
Zoller has been endorsed by Sarah Palin and Herman Cain.
Collins has the backing of state Republican leaders as well as former Governor and Senator Zell Miller.
"Today is very important. We spent the last year of our sharing a message of what we believe is Washington's broken and the values that we have to want to fix it," said Collins.
"I think it's an important crossroads in America where we need to take people like me who have business experience, as well as media experience, and go up there and call things what they are. To shake up the establishment," said Zoller.
The district includes 17 counties. The primary winner will face Democratic opposition in November.
