LAKE LANIER, Ga. -

Officials are back out on Lake Lanier searching for a man they presumed to have drowned after jumping from a sailboat early Saturday morning.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office released the name of the man Sunday. They say 44-year-old Jeffrey Nause was with a woman and another couple when he decided to go swimming around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Officials say he became distressed and went under the water. He did not resurface.

Officials say that weather and heavy boating traffic is limiting their search and recovery efforts to only sonar searches. They plan to mark potential areas of interest and dive on Monday. The search is limited to less than a square mile near the Lake Lanier Islands.

Officials say the area they are searching is between 70 and 140 feet deep and has added hazards of being heavily littered with underwater timber. They suspended their search Sunday and will be back out on the water with divers Monday morning.
