Chipper having a glorious farewell, but this is it

ATLANTA (AP) - Chipper Jones still has those glorious moments that every ballplayer cherishes, from a Little Leaguer just starting out to a 40-year-old on the way out.

When the Atlanta Braves third baseman had his first two-homer game in more than three years, he was so amped up that he spilled water all over himself trying to take a sip.

But nothing will change Jones' mind about retirement. This will be his final season, even though he's leading the team with a .315 average.

Jones says he promised his kids he would hang it up after one last year with the Braves. He can no longer play every day, and he says it wouldn't be fair to the team to take up a roster spot and a hefty salary in 2013.
