Rabid skunk found in Hall County

LULA, Ga. -

Hall County has confirmed its 16th rabies case of the year this week.

Hall County Animal Control in a release sent to FOX 5 on Wednesday stated that a skunk tested positive for the disease on Tuesday. The animal allegedly had contact with two cats in the area of Lula Road.

They advise anyone in Hall County who sees an animal acting abnormally to contact Animal Services at 770-531-6830 during normal business hours or the Hall County Dispatch at 770-536-8812 after business hours.

The Hall County Animal Shelter says they offer rabies vaccinations for pets Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for just $10. They are located at 1688 Barber Rd. in Gainesville.

They will be holding a vaccination and adoption event on August 18. You can find more information on at their website at hallcounty.org.
