Eight people are behind bars following a sweep by Cherokee County authorities and ICE on Tuesday night, say authorities.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, the arrests were conducted at various locations in Cherokee County. They say they were looking for foreign born individuals with outstanding arrest warrants.
One of the suspects, identified as Edmundo Martinez, 24, of Canton, was wanted in Cherokee County on several charges, say authorities. He is being held at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center, and has an ICE hold.
The other seven suspects were wanted by ICE on various charges. They were taken to the Whitfield County Jail where they will stay until deported.
