FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -
Testimony continued on Wednesday in the child custody hearing of Grammy award winning singer Usher Raymond and his ex-wife, Tameka Foster.
Family friend Linda Brock-White testified on Wednesday that Foster is a hands-off mother who depended on nannies and family members to take care of her children.
Brock-White is the Godmother of Tameka's 13-year-old son Ryan. Brock-White said that she had taken care of Ryan every weekend of his life. She testified that she noticed that Foster had the same lack of interaction with the two boys she had with Usher, 4-year-old Usher Raymond V and 3-year-old Naviyd.
"It was always someone else's responsibility when it came to the two little ones," said Brock-White.
Brock-White said that she traveled with the family last month to St. Barts in the Caribbean. During that trip, Brock-White said she flew with the two young children while Foster flew on a separate airline.
During cross-examination, Foster's attorneys said that Brock-White has three sons, two of which have been to jail.
Foster's sister, Yolanda Moore, that Usher acted as if no one was able to keep the boys other than himself. She also testified that the singer was once violence to his own mother in her presence.
"He kind of started to ram his car into my car and her car," said Moore.
Usher's attorneys contend Foster is a bad mother, and has psychological and anger management issues. They say the issues are so bad she should be on medication.
Foster explained to the court she was advised to take medication back in 2009. At the time, when she came home from Brazil, she discovered her husband had moved his things. She said the incident was shocking and with her two children, she found herself angry and hurt. She said she didn't want to take the medication, and felt it was not necessary.
Usher is seeking sole custody of their children, 4-year-old Usher Raymond V and 3-year-old Naviyd. Foster, who just lost her 11-year-old son, Kyle Glover, to a boating accident, is trying to maintain joint custody. She is also asking that child support be increased from $8,000 to $11,000 a month.
The two divorced in 2009.
