Two people were shot in a Family Dollar parking lot in northwest Atlanta on Tuesday, police said.
The shooting occurred on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway around 8 p.m. Witnesses described it as a "running gun battle" that began after an argument in the parking lot of a vacant restaurant.
Officer John Chafee of the Atlanta Police Department said that a group one group in the vacant parking lot shot at another group across the street. A witness said that one man was shot in the arm and another in the stomach.
The men that were shot were unarmed, according to Chafee. The victims are believed to be 19 and 20 years old. Both victims were transported to Grady Hospital.
The man shot in the arm was in stable condition, while the man shot in the stomach was in critical condition, police said.
The shooting remains under investigation, and the gunmen have not been apprehended.
