GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -

A German shepherd is back with its family in Gwinnett County, thanks to the generosity of strangers.  Veterinarians diagnosed 9-month-old Ranger with parvo, a highly-contagious disease that can be deadly unless it's treated.  And those treatments are very expensive.

Ranger's owner, Kelle Bobbitt, told FOX 5 she and her family made the difficult choice to put him down last week, since they couldn't afford the treatments.  But, Bobbitt says a man saw them crying in the parking lot.  After he heard Ranger's story, he offered to pay for the treatments for them.

A week later, after aggressive treatments and a $2,600 vet bill, Ranger is back at home.  The Good Samaritans didn't want to be part of our story, and they only want to be identified as Netta and Ali.  They told FOX 5 they're dog owners, and they know how much an animal means to a family.
