ATLANTA -

Authorities in Gwinnett County say skeletal remains discovered in Lawrenceville on Sunday are that of a young, black female.

Gwinnett police say the Medical Examiner's Office was able to narrow the age range of the skeletal remains to 19-22 years old. Her height is estimated between 5', 8" and 6 feet. The identity of the woman is not known.

The remains of a T-shirt were found with the remains, which appeared to be from a memorial function for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 2008, according to police. They say she was also wearing a large-sized Smoke Rise brand red jacket.

Police are treating the death as suspicious.

Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact Gwinnett County police at 770-513-5300.
