Clayton County police are searching for thieves who stole a trailer full of church supplies.
The trailer was parked at the home of one of the congregation members because the church is looking for a new home.
Twana Walton says the gear was moved from locations like a banquet hall for temporary services. Her church, In Time Ministries, is based on Long Island, N.Y. The congregation is working to open a church in Riverdale. All that gear -- $30,000 worth -- was meant for the new church.
"It had everything in there. It had an organ, piano, drums, microphones, video cameras -- it had chairs in there. The pulpit itself was in there," said Walton.
Church members say when the black Passport single axle trailer was stolen early Sunday morning, they and police tried to follow the trail from the scrapings left by the dragged trailer.
Walton says she and police said the trail ended about four blocks away from her home.
"They got a chance to actually pull it up properly and take off with it," said Walton.
Now church members must brace to dole out more of their own money to replace the stolen items.
"One thing for sure, we won't give, we will not give up," said Walton.
Church members said that they just want the trailer and it's contents back, no questions asked.
"I pray for the best and that they have a change of heart and they return the things," said church member Ronald Sims.
Church members are asking people to be suspicious if someone tries to sell them a black Passport trailer with New York plates.
